Ultram Generic is an opioid analgesic derived from cyclohexanol.

Pharmacological properties of the Ultram medication are determined by the cumulative effect of its constituent components - tramadol and paracetamol. Tramadol is a cyclohexanol derivative with opiate-agonist properties and belongs to centrally acting analgesics. This component has a weak affinity for opiate receptors without preferential selectivity for individual receptor populations, as well as an analgesic, antitussive, and sedative effects. The activity of tramadol is 1/10 - 1/6 of the activity of morphine. Unlike morphine, tramadol in therapeutic doses does not inhibit respiration, does not inhibit the motility of the gastrointestinal tract and does not affect cardiovascular activity. Paracetamol has an analgesic and antipyretic effect.

The indications for use Ultram pill are acute and chronic pain syndromes of the strong and medium intensity of various origins (malignant tumors, injuries, severe neuralgia, and others). For short-term (five days or less) relief of acute pain, the recommended dose of the drug is 2 pills every 4-6 hours, but not more than 8 pills per day.
