Ambien (Zolpidem) Sandoz is a sleeping pill belonging to the imidazopyridine group and is a selective agonist of the omega-1-benzodiazepine receptor subclass. It has a sedative effect, thus, when used in normal doses, it has no anxiolytic, central muscle relaxant and anticonvulsant effect. Ambien (Zolpidem) Sandoz shortens the sleep time, reduces the number of night awakenings, increases the overall sleep duration and improves its quality. 
Indication for use
Ambien (Zolpidem) Sandoz can be taken by almost all adults who have sleep disorders such as difficulty falling asleep, early and night awakenings.
Ambien (Zolpidem) Sandoz  is not recommended to use if you have:
hypersensitivity to zolpidem or any other components of this medication; 
acute and / or severe respiratory failure;
severe acute or chronic liver failure;
night apnea (including suspected);
hereditary lactose intolerance;
lactation period;
children (up to 18 years);
Dose and usage
Ambien (Zolpidem) Sandoz is released in form of 10mg oblong white tablet with inscriptions “5421” on one side and “AMB 10” on the other.
Inside (just before bedtime) in a single dose of 10 mg. In elderly or debilitated patients, with impaired liver function, treatment is started at a dose of 5 mg. If necessary (insufficient clinical effect) and good tolerability, the dose may be increased to 10 mg. The maximum daily dose is 10 mg. The course of treatment should not exceed 4 weeks. For transient insomnia, the recommended course of treatment is 2-5 days, with situational - 2-3 weeks.
Side effects
From the digestive system: abdominal pain, nausea, vomiting, diarrhea.
From the nervous system: confusion, memory impairment, hallucinations, dizziness, anxiety, "nightmarish" dreams, severe headache, daytime drowsiness; impaired movement coordination, muscle weakness, diplopia, anterograde amnesia. 
Allergic reactions: skin rash, itching.
Other: drug dependence (with prolonged use).
